Soul and Body

Salamullahialaikum and Peace Be Upon You.

Many people nowadays spend a lot of money in order to beautify themselves. Buying this and that… cosmetics, bags, clothes, shoes, skincare etc. But have we ever pondered how much money we spend to beautify our soul? “Soul beautification also needs money?” Yes, by donating to those in needs, buying useful books and so on. But I bet the money spent for these things are not as much as spending for physical beautification.

I remember in Critical & Creative Thinking Class, we were shot by many questions. It’s so philosophical. How was that? The answers are not in the article, but the answers are in our qalb.

“Are the soul and the body same?”

“Who am I?”

First question, are they same??? The body can die and dysfunction, but the soul will never die. Death? It is a separation between soul and body. The body will be destroyed, but not the soul. They are separate entities. The body is just a vehicle in this world. They will meet again on the Day of Judgment. For the pious men, the death is like a Wedding Day for them. Why? Because the souls are excited to meet the Creator. Subhanallah… Hope that we are among them, amin..

In paradise, we are all young and beautiful… So, to have a beautiful and pretty soul there, we ought to prepare ourselves, having makeover or something to beautify ourselves. Purify our soul.. Here in Dunya, we always wanted a bright face, white skin and so on? “We need the same thing for our soul. Don’t you?” Pure and bright soul… That would be lasting.

So, who am I??? I am a soul…
Thus, if we are the souls… Do we feed them (the soul)?
If we are given RM500/month, how much do we spend for the body and soul? 50-50? 80% for the body and 20% for the soul? Or vice versa?. Hence, we should always and always think twice where the money goes and how the soul has been. Is it okay, healthy, beautiful and bright? Never forget to mull over ourselves, have a deep thinking and reflection. J
